Christine Quaite
A Brief History
Christine Quaite
was born in Leeds on May 11, 1948.
At age eight, she entered her first
talent showcase and became a regular
fixture of the local amateur
circuit, later joining the Judean
Club, a Jewish youth performance
group. Christine received a contract
offer from Oriole Records, and in
early 1962, the then 13-year-old
issued her debut single "Oh My". It
was quickly followed by a second
single. "Your Nose Is Gonna Grow"
These two and her next single
"Whisper Wonderful Words" all failed
to chart. Christine had some minor
success with her fourth single "Tell
me Mama" when it climbed to 89th
spot in the Billboard Pop Charts of
1964. Two more singles followed for
Christine, "Here
She Comes" & "Mr Stuck-Up" before
the Oriole
label found itself bankrupt.
Christine released a further two
singles on the UK, Stateside label
in 1965 & 1966, it was to be
the last we would ever hear of
Christine Quaite.
