Dave Dobbyn

For a generation of New Zealanders, Dave Dobbyn is a musical icon. Choosing to be part of the more humble New Zealand pub circuit. Dobbyn wrote some of the most memorable songs to ever emerge from New Zealand. Forming his first pub rock group Th' Dudes while still at school Dobbyn had some minor Australasian chart success. DD Smash was formed after Th' Dudes folded early 80's and his solo career took off  with his soundtrack success for "Footrot Flats".

Th' Dudes were: Dave Dobbyn, Ian Morris, Bruce Hambling, Lez White and Peter Urlich. Hits Included "Walking in Light" "Right First Time" and "Bliss".
